A Letter of Thanks from Flock and Rally on Our 10-Year Anniversary

Cait Maloney designed this 10th Anniversary graphic for us using elements of some of our favorite campaigns and initiatives. We love it!

Ten years. What a wonderful journey it’s been thus far!

As we celebrate our 10-year anniversary this fall, we would like to pause to express gratitude to our community. So much awesomeness has occurred since the firm was founded a decade ago.

Flock and Rally started out in 2010 as a partnership between two established, creative professionals, Debi Schadel and Tracie Broom, and we were thrilled to serve a handful of local clients.

Today, we are a full-service marketing agency that builds brands, develops strategies and performs an array of advanced communications, marketing and advertising services for more than 25 clients at any given time.

While we maintain many long-lasting relationships with local clients, some of whom have been with us since our early years, we are excited to have grown to serve clients across the country and to reach target audiences around the world using a hybrid of digital and traditional tactics.

We are #blessed with a rich company culture and a phenomenal full-time staff, as well as a roster of wildly talented contractors, relationships with hundreds of accomplished journalists, and partnerships with so many excellent vendors and reps. We’re proud to share that there are more than 100 alums of our internship program, and it’s so inspiring to see what they’re doing in the world, from starting their own businesses to leading creative projects for major national brands.

Truly, the past 10 years have been an exercise in gratitude. Our community has been so encouraging to our agency, and so many of our clients make a direct, positive impact on the place we call home. We feel so thankful to all who have helped us grow this business from its origins to what it has become.

Our niche? We serve businesses and organizations that are already crushing it, but they are ready to take their branding, communications and marketing to the next level. We help organizations to develop, launch and market their brands, but at the core of our business, we keep the flame lit with this sentiment:

We love to help our clients grow.

Nothing pleases us more than to dig in and work closely with a client team to gather up all of their existing brand materials, review what’s working and what needs love, and then shore it all up. We help our clients to identify or update their core message and target audiences, and we create gorgeous brand assets. After developing a strategy and a plan, we help them amplify their story to reach the audiences that are going to help them achieve — or, often, exceed — their goals.

It is So. Much. Fun.

Over the years, we have dedicated ourselves to supporting local nonprofits, agencies and businesses, and so many people have helped us along the way, as well. We’ve spent years gathering knowledge and resources, adding incredible minds to our team, adopting cutting-edge best practices, and paying close attention to what works and what doesn’t.

We have all grown together.

Watching attitudes change about our home city has been particularly invigorating. The story that we tell about Columbia, South Carolina is changing. What was once “a college town that’s two hours from the mountains and two hours from the sea” is now a vibrant, mid-sized Southern city on the rise, where you can enjoy a low cost of living and high quality of life — and by simply raising your hand and offering to help, you can be a part of building a progressive, exciting culture that is welcoming to all.

While we now serve clients far and wide, we are proud to be based in “the real Southern hot spot.” It’s a wonderful place to grow a community, build a business, and find your people.

We look forward to continuing to contribute to our community as we grow. In the meantime, thank you to everyone who has contributed to our success as a women-owned creative agency and to all who continue to collaborate to build a better city, region, state, nation and world. We’re all connected, and — to quote one of the most overused pieces of marketing copy of 2020 — we’re in this together.

Happy 10 years to all of the #flockstars, past and present. We love you.

Thanks, y’all.

Warmest regards,

Tracie, Debi, Merritt and the Flock and Rally team
